I offer a brief, free telephone consultation in order to answer your questions and determine whether your needs fall within my scope of practice and expertise. I charge an hourly rate – please be in touch for more information. I have a limited number of sliding scale spaces available to clients who would not otherwise be able to afford therapy. Cancellations and missed sessions
I require 48 hours notice for cancellations, in order to offer your spot to another client. If you do not provide me with 48 hours notice, you will be billed at the full rate.
Payment is due at the end of each session by cash or cheque. If you prefer, you may also pay prior to the session through Interac e-transfer, available through online banking with your financial institution.
I will issue you a receipt for each session, which can be used for insurance and income tax purposes.
Insurance coverage and income tax deductions
Services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) are not covered by Ontario Health Insurance (OHIP) but are covered by most insurance companies. If you have extended health benefits through your employer, contact your insurance company or human resources representative to inquire whether counselling services provided by a social worker (MSW) are covered in your plan.
Counselling services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return. You can get more information about eligible medical expenses by clicking here.
